Who We Are
Dougan & Associates was founded in Houston, Texas in 1985 and has successfully served the international energy industry since that date. Previously, our founder, David Dougan, was employed with two other search firms for ten years before founding the firm. Dave has recruited executive and technical staff for the industry for over 30 years, has placed hundreds of staff in all disciplines, and has visited most of the worldwide petroleum basins. He is an active member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers, American Association of Petroleum Geologists, and the American Association of Professional Landmen.

We founded our firm based upon the principal that integrity, hard work and proper execution of search projects would lead to success and we have used those principals as our guiding light over the years. We never confuse effort with results, and our goal is to make 100% placements with each client search.

We are actively involved in the industry; attend seminars, NAPE, and the various oil and gas professional meetings to keep abreast of industry topics and hot button issues. We are constantly networking with industry management to address issues and concerns, as well as, being on the look out for outstanding talented individuals.

In many ways, the identification and selection of executive and technical staff are highly subjective, but over the years we have developed a solid methodology for locating and attracting the "A Players" to clients. A technical person who drove the major exploration discovery, drilled the toughest wells or negotiated the best contract is tough to hide. They are tougher to recruit, but that is something we have done time and again over the past thirty years. We know how to find the "A Players" and more importantly, we know how to attract them to our clients.
